2RAR Freedom Parade
Brief:
In November, Omnititan was on the Strand to broadcast the achievement of the Australian Army’s 2nd Battalion (2RAR) receiving its Freedom of Entry to Townsville. This right is granted by the local government and is a great honor showing the strong relationship between Townsville and the battalion.
The production was straightforward, a single technician was to follow the march and broadcast the audio to nearby receiving sites. These sites include speaker systems along the Strand to transmit audio to the awaiting crowd. The PA (Public Announcement) was supplied via North Queensland Production Hire, along with their crew to operate the sound system. Each site held hardware to decode the stream and for easy playback.
With expected changes in weather, our pop-up sites were equipped with waterproofing apparatus in advance to reduce delays in production. These sites had a compact design to reduce restricting access to bystanders and were also created for ease of assembly and dismantling.
